I have 50 years in the marine industry starting as an apprentice deckhand on a fishing trawler. I eventually went to college and became a skipper owner of different vessels. I then entered the merchant navy and sailed as chief officer and later captain of wind farm transfer vessels. I was a marine officer for the UK Gov marine management organisation. I started in the subsea cable industry in 2012 through my company Port Hill sailing on a cable ship as FLO and then later becoming part of Seagard Ltd
