After a 10 year apprenticeship with Standard Telephone and Cables designing, manufacturing, installing
and repairing systems worldwide, Gary was fortunate to be part of the creation of ASN. Gary led teams
developing and manufacturing the first submarine optical amplifiers and associated wet plant, before
spending the next 20 years as part of ASN’s customer facing team, involving many submarine cable and
Marine Maintenance projects across the globe. Gary served on the ICPC Executive Committee and as
a Director of ASN UK, prior to joining Meta’s Network Investment Team, leading strategic investments in
multiple subsea projects in the feasibility, procurement, construction and operational phases.
