Philip Pilgrim lives in eastern Canada and is the Subsea Business Development Leader for Nokia in North
America. He also contributes to SubTel Forum’s bi-monthly magazine. In his over thirty years in the
submarine telecoms industry, he has worked for subsea operators, suppliers, and consultants on several
continents. Subsea is in his veins as his father, great grandfather, and great-great uncle also worked in the
submarine telecoms industry in cable stations, and on cable ships. His interest in local subsea history has led
to his exploration and findings of the first submarine cables and landing sites in North America. Samples of
rare cable artifacts often appear in his presentations and lucky attendees leave with these.
