Pierre Mertz | Fellow

Dr. Mertz is currently a Fellow in the Advanced Optical Development group at Infinera developing advanced modulation formats, automation software, and fiber sensing solutions for subsea communications. 
He was awarded OSA’s 2021 Paul F. Forman Team Engineering Excellence Award and holds over 30 patents.
He previously held positions at Alvesta and Hewlett Packard and received his Ph.D from Princeton University and a B.S. from Cornell University.
