Robert is the Senior Director of R&D in the Optical Transmission team at Ciena, where his team has a focus on the system performance of terrestrial and submarine line systems. The team is responsible for the optical design of the photonics devices and verifies the performance of all the terrestrial and submarine link. He has been involved the technology and design of submarine system design for 30 years.
