Sumudu Edirisinghe obtained BEng in Electronic Systems Engineering in 1997 and PhD in 2002 from the University of Essex, UK. Over the next 20 years he has been working as an R&D and a design Engineer for several telecommunication equipment manufactures in Europe and USA.
He holds several US patents and has several publications. He is currently a Senior Subsea Engineer at Infinera Inc USA and a visiting professor at Kotelawala University, Sri Lanka.
He is senior member of IEEE, Member of IET and member of the optical society of America.
