Takemi Hasegawa is an R&D manager at Optical Communications Laboratory, Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. (SEI). He is in charge of development of optical fibers for submarine transmission including novel multi-core fibers, in addition to optical fibers for components. He joined SEI in 1999, and has been engaged in design, manufacturing, measurement and application of optical fibers. He received M.E. degree from the University of Tokyo in 1999. He is currently a member of IEEE/PS, and is serving as the Chair of IEEE/PS Tokyo Section Chapter in 2023.
