Takeshi Kawasaki is a Director of Network Services at NTT Ltd. Japan and currently responsible for the
subsea cable business. He is focused mainly on new subsea cable construction, engineering, operation, and
maintenance. Before NTT Ltd. Japan, he was a Senior Research Engineer in R&D at NTT Holdings, where he
led several development projects on optical transport network for NTT Group. He holds a Master’s degree of
multidisciplinary sciences from The University of Tokyo and an MBA from EDHEC Business School. In 2022, he
won the award for Science and Technology by the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science
and Technology for his achievement on the development of 400G optical networks.
